ap us history homework: religious freedom & the colonies

In some colonies, religious freedom was central. In other colonies, religious freedom was denied. I think the reasoning behind this is, because most of the colonies were owned by a different country. Some colonies were established, mainly because people traveled to find a place where they could practice whatever religion they wanted. Just like the pilgrims. they were Anglicans but they left & separated from that religion and called themselves the Separatists.
Other colonies were founded by other countries for different reasons. Reasons for trade and money. These colonies were not focused on religion so they were the same as they were in the country the colony was founded by.
